How do you guys record your live-sets

Forum index » Headphones, monitors and everything else » How do you guys record your live-sets

In a few weeks I'm gonna spin som records on a friend's party, not yet sure which equipment will be there (it is in a club/café). But I was thinking it would be nice to record what I have mixed. What do you guys use for that?

cheer
When I still used my turn tables I used to record some sets too. My mixer had three outputs so one was going to the amplifier and another one was going to the microphone of my computer. Then I simply used Audacity to record the microphone input.

This probably is not the best way to do it, but my laptop doesn't have anything else. I think you should use line-in for that or something. Anyway.. it suited its purpose :P
I use my line-in for recording my sets :)
I record it with Absolute Sound Recorder

works great :)
I use traktor software for mixing , it's also has a recording feature.
Traktor has an excellent recording feature which allows you to record in high quality 320kbps mp3 or WAV format.

Been using it for years.
Well back in the days i always used Cool Edit/Audition
but these days i record all my sets with "Magix Cleaning Lab"
For 1 reason only !

Magix records on the fly (with a backup function) while other software progs records with buffers. Sometimes this can give you hick-ups
I use Traktor to record what's coming out of my mixer.

One of the advantages of having the Audio 8 instead of the 4 even if you only use 2 decks :D
now i'm on the mac, recording sets with Audacity
and man, what a quality compared to the stupid soundcards on a PC machine
I use "Audacity"for about a year now, and i must say; Yes indeed it works so fine and a good quality and very simple to use, with usb. 3 seconds, and you are ready for rolling the vinyl's !!! (or cd's :D !).
